Saudi to tighten indigenization; Non-residents, including Malayalis, will lose their jobs!




Saudi Arabia moves forward with measures to tighten indigenization. The country is implementing indigenization in six more job sectors. Indigenization will be implemented in aviation jobs, vehicle inspection jobs, postal services, parcel transportation, customer service jobs and sales outlets in the seven economic sectors. The new decision was announced by the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Sulaiman Al Rajhi.


The new decision is to give more opportunities to the youth of the country. It is estimated that more than 33,000 jobs will be created for the natives. Expatriates including Malayalis will suffer. Indigenization will be implemented in a phased manner.


The first phase of repatriation will begin on March 15, 2023. Second phase from March 4, 2024.
